Made up of three sisters on a mission, BarlowGirl brings a sense of urgency to share the gospel and serve God with every one of their songs.
The trio consisting of Rebecca, Alyssa, and Lauren Barlow combine a soft-hearted, humble attitude with an intense, insistent desire to share the gospel and serve God. Their first radio hits “Never Alone” and “I Need You to Love Me” were widely popular while also reaching listeners on an intimate level. Barlowgirl’s latest album Love and War challenges listeners to stop procrastinating, and eagerly follow God.
“We’ve always wanted to raise the banner and to really let people know who God is,” explains Alyssa Barlow. “But with this album, there was this underlying current of ‘the time is now!’ The time is now to rise up and to get what God has for us. The time is now to rise up and learn what it means to be loved by God, to learn what it means to be set apart, to learn what it means to embrace our destiny and embrace our calling to the extreme.”
The women from BarlowGirl are also very active outside of the music scene. They have been actively involved with Mercy Ministries that helps young women deal with abuse, eating disorders, addictions, depression, and unplanned pregnancy and teamed up this summer with Operation Christmas Child to hand-deliver gifts to needy children in Belize.
