About Anne Wilson

Anne Wilson

Anne Wilson had never performed in front of an audience until she sang at her brother’s funeral. Her 23-year-old sibling, Jacob, tragically lost his life in a car accident on June 7, 2017, and when Wilson sang well-known worship anthem “What A Beautiful Name” at his memorial service, she began to feel a God-impressed call toward music. Record executives took note of the emotional moment — posted on YouTube by an observer — and quickly recognized the strength in her gravelly voice and the purity in her determined delivery. The Kentucky native soon found herself turning her journal entries into songs after she signed an unexpected recording contract. The Dove Award winner’s acclaimed debut album and subsequent single, both titled “My Jesus,” broke records for a new female artist in Christian music, with the title-cut landing at the top of the charts for multiple weeks and garnering the songstress her first GRAMMY® nomination. Encouraging offerings such as “Sunday Sermons” and “Hey Girl” followed, building on Wilson’s tendency to merge modern pop elements with country instrumentation — all centered around her authentic faith. The K-LOVE Fan Award recipient has since shared stages with Casting Crowns, Crowder, We The Kingdom and Phil Wickham, among other acts. In Fall of 2023, Wilson embarked on her first headlining tour, selling out many of the outing’s 20 dates. As she continues to invite others into her family’s story of loss, Wilson’s music testifies to God’s unmatched ability to bring beauty from ashes.
