When Michael Iskander landed the lead role in “House of David,” he knew it was going to be hard work. What he didn’t expect was becoming the star of the No. 1 show on Amazon Prime.
In this exclusive interview, Lauree sits down with Iskander on set in Athens, Greece. Iskander, who taught himself the lyre in preparation for the role, recounts his unique audition process—especially when considering this is the 23-year-old’s first major acting job.
“There are a lot of challenges that come with telling a story like this,” Iskander says. “The only way to get through it is through Him.”
One such challenge included a shoulder injury (and re-injury), which resulted in delayed filming of the famous Goliath scene. But through it all, Iskander held fast to his faith in God, as well as some wise counsel from “The Chosen” star Jonathan Roumie:
“In your lowest moments, He will carry you.”
