Every athlete knows that there comes a time when you have to hang up your cleats and move on, for some, it's coaching or the broadcast booth, but for the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles, it is gonna be the pulpit. Nick shared that his mom was instrumental in him knowing the Lord, he said she modeled what being a Christian looked like, and although it wasn't until a few years later that he made a decision for Christ, his mom was the most influential person in his life growing up.
A serious injury is what lead Nick to accepting Christ years ago, and Nick says he that he has so enjoyed the strong Christian brotherhood in the Eagles locker room, there are a number of guys on the team who are passionate about their faith in Christ, guys that you will see on the field Sunday playing in the Super Bowl, guys like Zach Ertz, Chris Maragoes, Trey Burton, Stefen Wisniewski, their starting QB Carson Wentz, as well as many others.
A year ago, Nick took a leap of faith and signed up for seminary classes, so that he can fulfill his call to be a youth pastor after he decides to retire from football. Nick says he has a real heart for what teenagers are faced with and he wants to help them find their worth in a relationship with Christ and not what the world tells them.
One of his teammates, Zach Ertz, was asked at media day about his faith and shared that their goal as players was to "make disciples".
