We have all experienced the power of encouragement in our lives, there are few things that mean more than someone acknowledging you. To be “seen” in itself is powerful. That is one of the things that makes a relationship with God so unique, He knows us intimately and loves us unconditionally.
One of the coolest things about being a Christian is that God invites us to share in showing that same kind of love to the people we meet. What a privilege, right? The only problem is that sometimes we make it seem harder than it really is.
That’s why we are excited about embarking on this journey where we discover the power of encouragement in our own lives and the lives of others. Encouragement is described as “the action of giving someone support, confidence, or hope.”
Oh! There's the secret, “the action,” that is where encouragement begins: with us taking action.
So, today, let’s continue our journey together by taking action. Sometime this week encourage someone who doesn’t often receive encouragement. We all know groups of people who get overlooked, deal with a lot of junk and could just use someone to say, “Hey, I see you!” Maybe it’s a teacher or bus driver, someone working in customer service, the cashier at the grocery store, your garbage man, a busboy or someone on the wait staff at a restaurant.
You just might be surprised by what an impact sharing a little encouragement can have not only on them, but also on you!
